Gunner, a well-known figure in the community, especially among local schools, has served the department since 2019. His contributions extended beyond his official duties, as he played a role in community engagement. Gunner will now enjoy retirement alongside his handler, who is also retiring.

Additionally, the council recognized Corporal Ken Kuzz for his 25 years of service. Beginning his career in the highway department in 1999 and later serving as a police officer, he achieved the rank of corporal in 2018. In honor of his retirement, he received a commendation from the mayor, celebrating his long-standing dedication to the borough.
