Glassboro Approves Bond Ordinances for Infrastructure and Public Services
- Meeting Overview:
At the recent Glassboro Borough Council meeting, two significant bond ordinances were adopted, allocating funds for infrastructure and public service improvements. Ordinance 25-09 will finance the acquisition of essential capital equipment and the completion of various capital improvements, amounting to $2,737,000. Ordinance 25-10 authorizes $13,640,000 for water and sewer enhancements. These financial measures are part of the borough’s annual budget process and will result in a 4-cent tax increase, translating to about $10 more per month for the average homeowner.
The meeting also marked the retirement of K9 Gunner from the Glassboro Police Department. Gunner, a well-known figure in the community, especially among local schools, has served the department since 2019. His contributions extended beyond his official duties, as he played a role in community engagement. Gunner will now enjoy retirement alongside his handler, who is also retiring.
Additionally, the council recognized Corporal Ken Kuzz for his 25 years of service. Beginning his career in the highway department in 1999 and later serving as a police officer, he achieved the rank of corporal in 2018. In honor of his retirement, he received a commendation from the mayor, celebrating his long-standing dedication to the borough.
