The council also discussed an amendment to the affordable housing mandatory set-aside ordinance. The modification aims to adjust how fractional units are rounded in development calculations. Under the revised ordinance, any fractional affordable housing unit of 0.5 or higher will round up. This change aligns with the city’s broader goals to enhance affordable housing availability.

Further, the council considered an amendment to the Market Street redevelopment plan. This amendment proposes incorporating an additional lot, currently a mechanic shop, into the plan to facilitate a more cohesive redevelopment project. The inclusion of this parcel is intended to align the area’s development with the overall vision and objectives of the Market Street redevelopment initiative.
