Passaic County Honors Carol CuadraD for 28 Years of Dedicated Service
- Meeting Overview:
In a recent meeting of the Passaic County Board of County Commissioners, the primary focus was on honoring Carol CuadraD for her 28 years of service to the community through the Passaic County Board of Social Services. The meeting also addressed financial investments in public works and new initiatives for community support, but it was CuadraD’s recognition that took center stage.
The board acknowledged Carol CuadraD’s long-standing contributions with a proclamation that highlighted her integrity, compassion, and commitment to serving vulnerable populations. CuadraD was recognized as the longest-serving commissioner of the board, commended for her ethical leadership and dedication to public service. The proclamation celebrated her achievements, which included an executive master’s degree in public administration from Rutgers and her new role at William Patterson University as associate vice president for government and university relations.
When CuadraD addressed the assembly, she expressed gratitude for the recognition and reflected on her nearly three-decade-long career. She emphasized the relationships she had built and the support of her colleagues, stating, “This has been my greatest honor to serve the people of Passaic County and the state of New Jersey for the past nearly three decades.” CuadraD’s speech was marked by a deep emotional connection to her work and the people she served, characterizing those in attendance as part of her family.
The address continued as she recounted her early career beginnings and the opportunities that led her to government service.
Furthering the theme of service, the meeting also highlighted the launch of a new pilot program titled “Under One Roof Housing Hub” by the Director of Human Services. This initiative aims to provide wraparound services to the homeless population, including employment support and medical care, and is located at Eva’s Village. The program’s announcement was met with applause.
In addition to the recognition of CuadraD and the introduction of the housing hub, the meeting also focused on a recent community event, the P County Connect, held at the Clifton Senior Center. The event aimed to connect seniors with available county resources, and plans for a subsequent event scheduled for May 5th in Totowa were mentioned.
Financial investments in public works were also discussed, with a $2.7 million allocation for new fleet vehicles intended to enhance snow operations for the upcoming winter. This investment was characterized as a significant enhancement to the county’s ability to respond to severe weather, highlighting the need for state-of-the-art equipment to ensure effective service delivery.
Furthermore, the meeting agenda included the adoption of a resolution concerning municipal budget appropriation limits and the establishment of a cap bank pursuant to NJSA 4A:45:15. A public hearing regarding the 2026 CAP resolution was opened and closed without any public comment, leading to its final adoption. However, the county’s 2026 budget, introduced on March 24th, had yet to receive state approval, necessitating its tabling until the next meeting. A public hearing on the budget concluded without public input, with the next meeting scheduled for May 12th at the Passaic County Community College Environmental Center.
