The number of motor vehicle stops increased significantly, partly due to an expanded police force and proactive policing efforts. Although only 20-25% of stops resulted in tickets, many were aimed at educating drivers on traffic laws. The council discussed pedestrian safety concerns, particularly in busy areas, and proposed ordinances to add stop signs at several intersections. These measures aim to address high accident rates and improve safety around schools.

Community health initiatives were also on the agenda, with the restructuring of the police department to better address rising calls for mental health services and substance abuse. A new Addiction Coordination and Treatment officer position was created to provide ongoing support and resources to individuals in crisis.
