This funding is aimed at bolstering student learning support, an initiative to address educational gaps. The grant will facilitate targeted tutoring sessions designed to deliver intensive academic assistance to students. The board expressed pride in securing this grant and highlighted the potential positive outcomes for student performance.

In addition to the tutoring grant, the board received a grant from Sustainable New Jersey and the College of New Jersey for the planting of trees across the school district.

The board also discussed preparations for the annual Day of Service scheduled for June 2nd. This initiative involves students from kindergarten through 12th grade participating in service activities that benefit both the school and the wider community. The board emphasized the growing popularity of this event and its alignment with the district’s restorative community service practices aimed at reducing student disciplinary issues.

Spring standardized testing has concluded smoothly across the district, with students from grades three through twelve completing assessments with minimal disruption. The board noted the successful implementation of a new state testing system and expressed gratitude to parents for their support during the testing period.

In anticipation of the next academic year, the board reviewed and approved numerous contracts related to student health, instruction, facilities, and district operations. The board aims to ensure all necessary resources and services are in place well in advance of the school year.

In addition, student work will be displayed in the high school gymnasium, and the robotics team will demonstrate their projects.
